Roland CONNECT
There were many signs in audio-gear industry for the new way of marketing, such as NI departed from trade show and attendance decreasing in Summer NAMM’09. It seems like everything is going on-line. Now NI announces everything on their website, including new product and promotion. Roland is also heading this way.
Steve Vai : Where The Wild Things Are
This is the upcoming Steve Vai’s concert film, Where The Wild Things Are, which will be released on Sep 29, 2009. It is hi-def 720p with 5.1 surround sound. Personally, I’m not a fan of Steve Vai’s music. But I realize his performance is great and his skill is godlike. What I like most in Steve Vai is his sense of sound design.
Transformers and Media Composer
This video was made by AVID to show how editors in Transformers 2 work with Avid Media Composer. It has nothing related to sound design, but the video itself is interesting enough to spend 7 minute to watch. For me, it is always interesting seeing how people work at this level of production.
What is happening on 09/09/09
On Aug 8, 2008 (08/08/08), there was such a great opening ceremony of Olympic games in Beijing, China. What about 09/09/09, what is happening? A few months ago Propellerhead announced Record and promised that Record will be available on 09/09/09. Today I’ve just read the news mention another “big thing” will happen on 09/09/09. It’s from Mackie.
Live Music : Animated Short Film
I love animation. But this animated short film interests me more because it’s about music and musical instruments. Moreover, it features Steve Vai on guitar and Ann Marie Calhoun on violin. Live Music will be attached to another animated feature which I’m waiting to watch, Planet 51. Hope both of them will be available in Thailand.
